Your problem is not overdosage... too much cortef would result in a very fat baby... too little would result in a very small or light weight baby. Which I think is worst that being alittle heavy because with too little cortef there is more danager or a crisis and death. Personally I would be careful and get advice from a "good" ped endo before I tried herbal or other the counter drugs because there could be an really bad interaction between the two drugs. But DO MAKE sure that you are giving the morning dose before 9am. I try to stay on schedule with the dosage. Again this site emphasizes (and many other sites... and the NIH.. and so forth) that there is a natural cycle or hormonal (or cortisol) production that is needed. This is not aimed at anyone on the board but again why play games because my doctors say it is okay.. when so many other don't agree... and considering with the long term effects. But my husband is from Puerto Rico (African decent) and our son has dark skin. So I can relate to your message... when doctors make generalization about people of "color". I live in the Washington DC area and we too had alot of snow. Be very careful with the flu. My youngest is 18 months and older son with CAH is now 6 years old. I had the same problem with under dosage and a very thin baby... it is very worrisome..
