Baby.com gives this advice: Don't give him any cold remedies without consulting your pediatrician. In children under 1 year old,over-the-counter cold medications often do more harm than good. But a fever is an emergency for a CAH child... and I don't agree that a stress dose would cause your baby to be too small or bittle bones (again this is a replacement cortisol). You need to have a second opionion on the xray thing.. and by a bone specialist. For example one young doctor in the ER (not even fully trained) told me that one of my children had a heart murrer and he was wrong. Your doctor is not overdosing but under dosing... and I every other day stress dose!! What is the world??? That makes no sense to me. If a stress dose is necessary - one doesn't take it once and that is it and you must taper off. Say - triple one day, double the next and then normal dose. Not bang - a big dose and then back to normal. And then big dose and then little dose.. no way!! preston@kreative.netroberta
