I was diagnosed at about 18 mos., so I don't know exactly when they started doing bone ages. I would go every year right before my endo appointment (I only had to see him once a year. Maybe it was more often when I was first diagnosed, but I don't remember). I would get the 17OH and the bone age (via wrist scan) all at once. I've always been a fairly normal height (5'6"), but the bone age revealed that I lost an inch or two, probably because of the CAH. I haven't had one in years; I stopped growing in junior high. On a side note, my parents always let me know it was time for labs by asking me if I wanted to go to McDonalds for lunch the next day. I caught on pretty quickly that it meant I had to get a "shot" first. Yes, it's blatant bribery, but it worked. Actually, this past summer was the first time we didn't go, and I was kinda disappointed. I guess I didn't want to see my childhood end completely, but I guess it was time.Mara
