My daughter is 5 1/2 and in kindergarten. You wouldn't believe how many kids go into the nurses' office for medicine every day (asthma inhalers, Ritalin, etc.)...so, in a twisted sort of way...I was glad to see that. She has spent the night at my sister's house (an hour away)...we sent the Solu-Cortef..with instructions...and notified our endo that she would be out of our care (we love our endo!). Most friends know about her condition and have no problems having her over to play, taking her with them to the mall, etc. We just make sure they have our cell phone number (cell phones were a God-send....it was worth the money for the peace of mind we got!) My in-laws even took her for a few days ( 3 hrs away). Again...we let the endo know and made sure the cell phone was charged up and the solu-cortef and ALL instructions went with her (times for medicines, etc.). We keep saying "she's a child first.....she's a child with CAH second". She climbs the tree, rollerblades, and goes about her life.Karen
