Karen and nannie are right, we can't let CAH overcloud the fact that they are children first. You can't allow yourself to be scared by this condition. You must be very cautious with CAH, but don't let it overrun your child's opportunity to lead a normal life. My 9 year old daughter has never had any social problem with taking her meds in school. The other kids think nothing of it. And there are so many kids taking medications for so many different things that nobody has ever questioned why she is. She plays basketball and soccer, rides her bike like a stuntwoman and rollerblades like a speed demon. She's very active and we don't let the CAH slow her down. She has slept out a few times and her meds and instructions went with her. The houses she went to were people I know well, so that's a different situation than having to explain it to a schoolfriend's parents whom I don't know as well. I don't expect it to be a big problem though when the time comes. We also have cell phones so that we can be reached no matter what.
