I used to refer to CAH as a "disease" until my best friend (a social worker) told me that the word 'disease' can actually quite be frightening to small children. To them, 'disease' can mean 'death'. We've referred to our daughter's condition as "disorder" ever since. It makes more sense, anyway. I just never gave it a thought....(which is why *I* am not a social worker!)
