Dr. New is in NYC and she only specializes in pedriatic endocrinology and screening genes of unborn babies to see if the baby has CAH - but both parents have to carry the gene for CAH. It is unlikely that her baby died because of the medication or because of the mother having an adrenal problem. I took steriods so that my baby (if it was girl) would not need to have surgery for masculine appearing external genital. Steriods do not cause babies to miscarry or be born stillborn. Steriods that are taken for CAH - are naturally produced in our bodies (CAH folks just don't produce them naturally and have to take a pill of it). I have had miscarriages so I know her pain but sometimes it just happens for no reason. I am 43 years old and have a 18 old baby boy - perfectly normal little boy with CAH (no chromonal problems or anything - he is a very smart little boy). I live in Virginia. A rural area is very hard to find good doctors - she may need to go to a large city for a specialist for her adrenal problem and to see a high risk OB/GYN for pregnancy. I hope that she will try again for a baby. preston@kreative.net
