My son has gone anywhere & done everything he ever wanted to. He is almost 15 years old now AND is a Junior Firefighter with our local fire company. When he goes to a friend's house, I make sure he calls me & gives me the number where he's at, and that he has numbers to reach me, yes, having a cell phone is a god-send. He always carries extra meds with him, and when he was younger & slept over at a friend's house I just talked briefly with the parents & asked them to make sure he took his meds and to call me if there was ANY kind of problem. Two years ago he took a trip to Colorado (we live in PA) with his grandparents, and they are hoping to go again this year. He was on the school wrestling team, and played in the band. He has played baseball ever since he could hold a bat! He rode horses when he was just a toddler, has been riding bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, & anything else with wheels all his life. He loves to ride his dirt bike & 4-wheeler. He's gone on ALL of his school trips. He also mows the lawn, takes out the garbage, babysits his little brother...etc. You get the picture-he does everything like a normal kid, whether I'm with him or not.
