Your message was great! We follow the same school of thought when it comes to our daughter. Our 9 year old daughter is very active and outgoing. I would never dream of slowing her down "just in case". CAH is part of our lives, but it isn't the ONLY part. We haven't had the sleepover issue yet, other than when she's stayed at the homes of her grandparents or with people we know. I will probably just make sure the parents are aware of the meds she will be taking with her and let them know of the importance of calling me if there's even a hint of her not feeling well. For the most part, CAH is not a big issue to my child. She knows what it is (as well as a child her age can understand it) but she doesn't see herself as any different than any other kid in school. She really thinks nothing of it at all. She knows how important it is to get meds or shots when necessary, but this doesn't scare her or bother her... it's just a part of life that she deals with. I don't anticipate CAH having a negative impact on her life either socially or psychologically.
