Hi There, Welcome to the board. It is a great place to receive input from others dealing with the same situations. My understanding of CAH is that emotional stress is not what sends a CAH child or adult into Adrenal Crisis. It is only physical stress, for example, broken bones, vomitting, diarreah, fever of 101 or higher or a bad accident. I have an 18 month old son with salt wasting CAH and we are now starting the discipline, and he throws himself on the ground and is crying and completely freaking out and he handles it just fine. I have a wonderful endo also, and she says that emotional stress will not harm him, so I don't worry about that. Also about second guessing yourself, I have had one situation with my son going into adrenal crisis, and I started second guessing myself but in my heart I knew what I needed to do for him. So I did it (gave him the Solu Cortef IM) then called the endo. I learned from that experience never never second guess myself, we as their parents know our children best. CAH children/adults can never have to much Cortisone, so it's better to over react than to not act at all. Sorry this is so long, but thank you for reading it. I hope this helps. Please feel free to email me anytime. Kym P.
