We have also been told that only physical stress can start a crisis. But speaking from personal experience, my daughter has had episodes where emotional stess definately put her in a situation of requiring a stress dose of meds. I'm not referring to simple things like her being upset over a discipline issue, but more serious things like when she learned of my mother's cancer. My mom was given only 3 months to live, and news that her grandma might die had a very traumatic effect on her. She ended up in bed, very weak and with a pounding head, and she didn't look very well at all. I had to give extra meds to get her "looking normal" again and to get rid of the pounding in her head. She still spent the entire day in bed feeling weak. Other not so serious things have also caused similar episodes. She sometimes will feel sick or weak if she cries for a long time and then she has to lay down for awhile. Has anybody else ever experienced this with their own children? (P.S. in the end, my mom proved the doctors wrong. She refused the surgery they wanted to perform, went with the chemo/radiation that they didn't think she could handle, and is now alive and well more than a year and a half after the original diagnosis.)Laurie
