My email is preston@kreative.net On 1 Sept 97, Jessica died at age 2 1/2 years old. She had a fever and the doctor said to double the cortef. The fever raged and I called the doctor again - he insisted that doulbe the cortef was enough (and stop calling me - was his words). IN the morning, Jessica was in shock. Her heart stopped in the ER and they revived her but it took 45 minutes and she was brain dead after 48 hours in the PICU, she on a respirator but they said there was no hope. The doctor even to this day says it was the infection that caused the fever that caused her to die but the death certificate says adrenal crisis and septic shock. I can't tell how to stop the tears!! I just don't know how. I did have another baby after Jessica (a month later I became pregnant). I focused on the baby and not much else. Some say that delays the grief but there is no way to get over it... faster or slower. I have two sons, Stephen is 6 years old; and Adam is 18 months. Stephen and Jessica were just 13 months apart in age. What a void not having those two grow up together. So I know!!
