I have the same sleeping problem with my 2 and a half year old. I felt the same way about letting her cry. (Of course that is a whole different debate whether it be a child with or without a disease.) Her endo. told me the same thing that Kym was told. But I was introduced to a 9 year old with CAH salt-wasting when my daughter was first diagnosed. The hospital paired us up so I could have proof my daughter was going to be ok. Anyway, she had mentioned that when she was under some serious stress like the rest of the women had previously mentioned, she just increased her meds. and she was fine. So my belief is, it depends on the severity of the stress the child/adult is experiencing. I plan to discuss this again with her endo. at next visit. It's funny you mentioned this. When I brought up not wanting to let her cry at night to her endo., I thought about what the 9 year old's mom told me. And I thought, as an infant this may be an extremely stressful event to let her "cry it out". Who can justify what is stressful and what is not to an infant? One more note- I have a friend that has a daughter WITHOUT CAH, she has had bad sleeping habits too. She is 5 now and over them. So I see a light at the end of my tunnel. Good Luck!Laura
