I just want to echo what Danny and Mara said. My daughter is 11 so we have been dealing with this for years. Yes, it is frightening at first because you don't know what you are dealing with. Once you learn about CAH you will understand the importance of the medications and how to recognize a crisis (we have only had 2 in all these years) and you will do just fine. This board is great - lots of good info here and all the support and understanding a person could ask for! I strongly encourage you to check the board frequently - you will learn things from others' experiences - things doctors sometimes forget to mention or just don't see the way you do as a parent.
