Theresa, Oh, do I know what you are going through! My 6 month old son was rushed to the ER at 13 days old from severe vommiting of bile and dehydration. Interesting though the MD's in the ER suspected CAH from the onset because of his high potassium level (10) and semi-low sodium - put that together with the symptoms he presented with and you have CAH. We did not have a confirmation of CAH until 11 days later, because his blood work-up was sent to CA. Like Danny Carlton had previously stated, we too were actually RELIVED to have a diagnosis! However, instead of waiting for the confirmation, they began treating him for CAH the moment he was admitted to the ER.
