Welcome Theresa. It is indeed a scary thing for a doctor to tell you that your new baby has a disease. God is watching out for you because you have come to the right place for information and support. Everything will be fine. Remember that you have to take charge of the situation, as calm as you can. My daughter was born 2 and a half years ago with CAH, saltwasting. Once you get through the initial shock of everything happening you will slowly have all the information sink in your head. If your doctor is not familiar with this disease, find one that is. Post a message on here asking if anyone knows of a good endocrologist in your area. Everyone here is more than ready to help. My daughter has been doing fine. I was just told by a friend, that you would never know she has this disease. (I wanted to say, like duh!) But I have to remember not everyone understands this disease. That is a perfect example of what a normal life your child will live once you have a good endocrologist. We visit the endo. every 6 months and do blood work to check her levels. Every child is different. You will see that from this message board. I feel in my heart you will be ok, because of the simple fact you found this message board. This has made all the difference in the world for me. I am still learning new stuff by the day. Please post a message to ask if anyone is in your area, they will be able to help. Good luck. Your child will be in my prayers. Keep us posted when you can. ASK MANY QUESTIONS OF YOUR DOCTORS!!!!!! Remember, this is YOUR child, not theirs. God Bless!!!!!Laura
