My daughter is now 9 years old. She's had numerous cystoscopies. When she was much younger we went through a period where she was having one almost every month. She had others, though less frequently, as she got older. In the past few years she's only had one cysto, and she won't be having another one for many years. It was usually a pretty quick procedure. She never had to stay in the hospital for any of them... it was always done as outpatient surgery. Once she came out from the anesthesia she would usually want to spend the rest of the day lazing around the house. She'd be tired (mostly, I think, because of the anesthesia) but she was never really in any discomfort and it didn't seem to bother her much. I hope I've been able to answer some of your questions and maybe make you feel a little less nervous. Good luck with your daughter.Laurie
