I, too, have read & been told that CAH can cause hyper-pigmentation, especially of the nipples & genital area. When my son was born, I was asked if there was anyone "of color" in either side of his families, and the only "color" I can come up with is one Native American about 6 or 7 generations ago. To further emphasize the situation, the first words out of my dad's mouth after he was born were, "I hope he doesn't get any darker!" He was the darkest baby in the nursery...looked like he had a really great tan! He was my first born & I hadn't seen too many newborns up til then, so I didn't think he looked strange with his brown nipples & darker genitals. He gets a really great tan practically all year round, and has only burned slightly once or twice in his life. His skin is alot like my non-CAH brother's, so it may be partially hereditary.
