About being told that the medication just needs to be kept down 30 minutes, ugh.... I had a CAH child die. I will never, ever ASSUME at ANY time that oral medication has been kept down if held down even 4 hours. I recently called the Motrin/Tylenol company & talked to them about vomiting, i.e. how long to keep meds down. The nurse there said there is never, ever any guarantee something is kept down, even if the person vomits 4-6 hours later. It all depends upon if the stomach lining absorbed it or if the med was just "sitting" in their tummy. All of all, it's a matter of watching your child at any given time, even when not ill, for symptoms of an adrenal crisis or other health matter (just not even looking right).
