I have a four month old daughter with CAH. I was on dex almost through my entire pregnancy. I can honestly say that while I did have a rough pregnancy due to increased water retention, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes -all side effects of the dexo - being on the dexo prevented my daughter from having problems with her genetilia. I will warn you though that it was hard to find the right dosage of meds (cortef and florinef) for her right after birth....she is doing very, very well now.... I have an eight year old boy with CAH and that is why I was placed on the dex to begin with.....it was worth it just to prevent her from having had the surgery!!! Good luck to you....
