Re: Another Child and my experience with a CAH daughter

I can't offer much for advice but I will tell you our story. Our daughter is 16 months old and our second child. Our son does not have CAH. I prayed the whole time I was pregnant for a healthy child because we have had other health problems with our son. She was born 6 weeks early and appeared to be healthy, just small. We have the newborn screen done in our state so we found out that way that she has Classic CAH, salt-wasting. She had no problems with her genitalia at all. There is NO explanation for this. Her endo was quite surprised that this wasn't an issue. I couldn't believe it after doing some research of my own. I thought maybe they had misdiagnosed but we had the genetic test done and it confirmed that she indeed has CAH. I believe it was prayer that spared us this part of this disorder. I will add to this, however, that I'm not brave enough to decide to have another child. I don't like the idea of being on the dex. and I'm not sure that I truly trust God enough to spare 2 girls of the ambiguios geniatalia. I know I am not much help but I do want you to know another side of the story.
