Re: SECOND CHILD

Rie, relax and have the family that you dream of. I have six children, number 3 (Female)is CAH, and we still had three more after that. Number four (male) is a carrier, number 5 (female)was unaffected and number 6 (male) had CAH. CAH can control your life only to the amount that you let it. My daughter #3, Karen, was born with ambiguous genitalia and had extensive surgery at 4 months. It is considered minor surgery, and she had only several stitches afterward. I don't mean to make light of it, but with good pain management, she came through it with relative ease. I cannot imagine life without Karen--she is the shining light of our home. If you feel prompted to have other children, please don't let fear of this surgery stop you. My fifth child was also a girl, so I used dex. Hated it, had to stay on for 6 months and had TONS of side effects. Chose not to take it for my sixth child (I felt strongly that he would be a boy, which helped my decision). Ben was born with CAH and was also a joyous addition to our home. Feel free to e-mail me if you want--eirual_s@hotmail.com
