Re: Any behavior changes in the kids with high 17 OHP levels?

You know I hesitate to respond to a question like this because like you I guess I just dont feel very supported. Our endo isnt as concerned with regard to behavioral changes and my daughters CAH. I think he has done an exceptional job in medically managing her condition but there are things (not necessarily medical) I think he just is not aware of. We have a 6 1/2 yr old salt wasting girl that I think I know like the back of my hand. I can tell you EVERY single time her levels are "off". The problem is that unless it is "time for labs" we cant prove this theory. I think she goes up and down in between tests and I see a dramatic change in attitude, behavior and emotional state when she is not at the level she should be. My husband is not sold on the fact that its from the condition. She has always been more agressive (active in sports, running...) but she when she is elevated or below range I definitley notice a change in her. She becomes a different kid. Its really hard to explain. We have talked before on the board about physcial and mental affects/effects on our CAH kids, but I too still have questions. Any opinions? Natalie
