My 15 month old salt-wasting CAH son has apparently had them about every 6 weeks of his life. They started him on amoxicillin, which didn't work; he was admitted twice for rehydration due to viruses that didn't develop into ear infections, but, ever since then, it has been Augmentin, Suprax, Cedax, and either I.V. or injectable antibiotics, followed by oral antibiotics. He is now on 3/4 tsp for 10 days, as he is due for tubes on Monday. They did say, that, he will still get ear infections, with the tubes, but, that it will help the ear drain, and the infection heal faster. He always seems to have nasal discharge, cough, low to high fever (100.4 to 101.9), then it goes into an ear infection. He has sustained mild hearing loss. We hope this will help immensely.Jennifer C
