Hi. my daughter was diagnosed with CAH at age of 8 1/2 so very close to your daughter's age. she is now 13 and doing very well. the basic treatment is cortisol replacement altho my daughter's ped endo has always had her on prednisone. if she has CAH you have some things to learn but there are more resources out there now than even 4 years ago. if she has it, and it is just being diagnosed now, she likely has the milder, non-classical form of the disorder but you still have to treat it and the treatment means you need to be able to handle issues like illness differently. it is really a case of medical management and it can be handled well. if i can be of help, please email me directly and i'll try to answer any questions. good luck and blessings. it does get better and easier!
