Hope everyone knows about EMLA. It's fantastic. Topical cream that numbs the area. We put it on both arms because sometimes one is better than the other--we never know which it will be. I also get the best technician. My son is 14 and he hand picks her every time. She always gets him in one shot. Others were trying 3 and 4 times. It was awful. My daughter has an easier time--she'll take anybody--just get it over with! Thanks for the info about the early blood draws without food or meds. My son has been having a problem with suppression lately. His meds were upped and he needs a draw next week. We'll try it that way. I really don't want him oversuppressed as his height will be compromised more than it is already.
