Hi Julie, I agree totally with Kym P. I have a 16 month-old son (salt waster) and our first year was scary but a great learning experience. You may want to read my post in the ARCHIVES section of the site with the beginning title "what about when vomiting, what about diarrhea" with the first post by Kristy, then my post titled "3 hospital visits since July" from 10-26-99 (look under October 1999 archives). Our son was in a daycare from January 1999 until October 1999. This was not the best setting for him because he got sick alot during that time. All the other kids at the daycare got sick as well, but the ear infections, not drinking, vomiting, etc. did not effect them like it did our son. The not being able to drink when he had an ear infection was SUCH a big deal for him. I hope this helps. I am sure your child will do well.
