How similar! I also received a raking over by the family doctor for going over his head. Actually when I made the appt with the OB/GYN, I was told he didn't see children. I went ahead and made the appt for myself. At the appt, I pleaded with him to listen to me. He listened, made a few phone calls and arranged for me to take my daughter to a specific hospital on a specific day when the endo would be there. We were to go to emergency and ask for the endo specifically. I am sure this was all done for 'political' reasons as well as not having the long wait (six month) for the appt. When the results came in, the endo applauded my persistance. I did get a bit of satisfaction in the end, when we were referred to a ped endo. We were asked for a list of all the doctors. It was more than a few. Since my daughter's case was a "classic textbook" case, letters were sent to all, informing them of what they failed to diagnose. Previously, I was always a meek person. Out of necessity, have learned to be assertive. I am not afraid to ask questions and hold my ground when I deem it important to the well-being of my child. Kim ... I'm doing a bit of a search on the net and will post any info for you.Peg
