Thanks everybody who answered. I have to say it was interesting to see how differently each endo does things. Like I said at the beginning, the early morning fasting blood draw is a NEW protocol--they younger your endo the more likely he/she is following it. Many endos believe it will be the only way to go in the future. Because it will allow endos across the globe to compare blood results with accuracy, if all are drawn under the same conditions--their charts will become more accurate, and much of the guesswork will be eliminated. If your endo doesn't care what time of day you draw (esp if every draw is at a different time) might want to ask why... laurie
