I have a 19 month old boy with salt wasting CAH, and he is thirsty all the time. I have to leave a cup of water at his reach at all times. I fill it up several times a day. I thought that maybe since he takes in so much sodium that it made him more thirsty. Anybody experience that? One thing I do notice with him is that he really does not like juices. I am also curious to know if other CAH kids or adults prefer water over juice. I have tried all kinds and he would just rather have his water. He did like milk quite a lot, however he suffered from severe constipation. So I took him off of cows milk(to see if it was the dairy product, since the doctor's could not figure out why he was constipated) and now drinks Rice Dream. Which obviously from the name is made from rice. He's been drinking that for 2 months and has had absolutely NO problems with constipation. So I would assume it was the milk. Kym P.
