Agreed; one would think that as your child's legal guardian, you would be legally required to have access to the medical records. As for dosages....when I was on Cortef, I went 15 in the morning, 5 around dinner, and 15 before I went to bed. I don't know my endo's rationale, but it seemed to work well for me.
