As for the "Why do I have this?" question - my daughter is 11 and it has come up. The way we approach it is that none of us is perfect. Her dad has high blood pressure and about a year ago diagnosed with diabetes. I have recurring sinus problems and mild arthritis in my knees. Her brother tore his ACL when he was 12 and ended up with 5 surgeries on his knee before it was "fixed" and still not sure 9 yrs later how long that will last. The point is, we all have something to deal with and we consider ourselves lucky to have something that can be treated with medication and we can all live normal lives and do normal things. She knows that there are many people (kids included) who are not so fotunate.Kay
