Why the switch to prednisone? and Saliva test?
3/30/00 9:17 AM
Why do so many people get switched to predinose? Is there an age for most people? I always thought that cortisone was suppose to be the exact same hormone produced by the body. What changes have most people who have switched see? My daughter's endo has never mentioned ever switching. Has anyone heard about the new saliva test for hormones? Could this be an additional test (like in between labs) to help better control this disorder? I only wish I had the knowledge to do my daughter's lab tests myself. I would like to see the fluctuations in the cortisone levels throughout the day for a month straight.I know that diabetics can get a much better control of their glucose levels if they check frequently during the day. A saliva test sounds much better than poking your fingers over and over.
