My daughter had her corrective surgery at 8 months old. She did beautifully. I know I wouldn't have moved out of bed for a month!!! She was at the stage of walking that you hold their two hands and they walk tippy toes holding on to you for life. And by the second day after surgery, she was double diapered for protection and I had her catheter bag hanging on my pants and we did rounds of walking around the ward all day long. She was such a trooper. She never seemed to require any pain meds after the inital day. Good Luck to your neice, I'm sure she'll be fine. EIleen
