I am, once again, just more furious...I can hardly even type!! CAH is not an intersex condition. My daughter's DNA SAYS SHE IS A GIRL!!! There is no option at birth of leaving non-functioning sexual organs. There is not an option of not having surgery...they may have excess levels of testosterone, but that is controlled with hydrocortisone...these children, at birth, do not have functioning male organs, but they do have functioning female organs (the vagina is just closed, it is not gone)...how can you raise a CAH girl as a boy if there are no sexual organs of the male persuasion? I know I feel realyl strongly about this issue and that letter from the Intersex Society has just gotten me more riled than I thought possible.....aaaarrrrghhhhhhhhh!!!!
