We too have given solu-cortef at the onset of illness ie: flu ect. When KC isn't at risk for not holding down Tylenol, benadryl ect., we give the extra meds. orally doubling or tripling the regular dose. When there is nausea/vomiting we use the 3cc insulin syringe. My husband wanted me to ask if anyone elses kids within 20 or so mins. of giving the injectable, notice almost instant changes in the condition of your childs illness, as in an elevated temp returning to normal, ceasation of lethargy and vomiting? Our endo. has never had a clear answer for this but we have never had to admin. more than one injection in any illness except the one time when it was the wrong medication.
