Yes, our endo said the solu-cortef will never hurt them so go ahead and give it if there are any questions. Our daughter (8) has only needed one dose of solu-cortef to bounce back also. It's an amazing change to watch. We were told to triple if her fever gets to 100 F. I also give her double dose when she has a constant cough, but no fever. My endo doesn't agree on this, but I know my child and if you are up 24 hours coughing your body must be under a lot of stress. Our daughter is right on the cusp of salt waster/non salt waster (Dr. New couldn't decide but in the end said non). It sounds like the salt wasters have a faster drop off towards a crisis. Does this seem true to anyone else?
