One of the reasons for measuring a CAH boys penis is to assist in monitoring if his individual levels are adequately supressed . If they become elivated enough there may be a change in the measurement - excess testosterone, etc. This would be a more immediate sign perhaps than waiting two weeks for the labs to come back from California or wherever. I have been to doctors in CT and NY and that is their standard practice. There is talk, however, to reduce the measuring to every other visit for the childs sake. Yet another cross to bare!
