You handled it great. Your note about being extra active from the increased steroids is right on the mark. There have been times when we've give our daughter (8) extra cortef in what later was a non-crisis period and found her babbling and off the walls. For example, just last week she had a very bad headache. I doubled her thinking something was coming. That morning she was wired. I don't think it was our imagination. But I'd much rather have that than the lethargy when they are going into crisis. As she has gotten older, I am much quicker to inject the solu-cortef than in the past. I really believe we have avoided many ER trips by jumping quickly when she is really sick.
