Alan, Liz is so right! You are lucky to know in advance of your child's birth. This gives you and your wife the opportunity to prepare and to nail down sound advice on ped.endos. Inteview until you find the one you trust. You said that she "may" have ambigious genitailia. You might consider other testing as your pregnancy progresses to determine whether or not you actually do have CAH. We didn't find out our daughter had CAH until she was 11mo. old she was diognosed with amb. gent. prior to CAH. It definatly is a shock but remember this child is the same as your other two, except she has an adrenal problem. Our kids are just as strong as "normal" kids maybe stronger, they learn to deal with problems just the same (maybe better) they certainly make us stronger parents. Collect all the info. you can at this stage to prepare yourself, I'd find it hard to make a decision about surgery at this point, maybe more tests will help you adjust or reveal that it's not even an issue.DON"T WATCH SHOWS ABOUT ANY CAH OR AMBIGIOUS GENITALIA untl you've been properly diognosed and informed. Stay with this board for questions and support, I'm new to this site these people are great, well informed, caring and sharing! Good Luck to you and your family.
