You can call the MedicAlert organization at 1-800-IDALERT. The bracelets and necklaces are not really expensive. They are a non-profit organization so they may ask you if you want to make a donation when ordering. The reason I went with MedicAlert over just getting one at the pharmacy is that they keep a file on the "patient." The bracelet has a toll free number for MedicAlert and a patient ID # (along with specific adrenal insufficiency info). When emergency medical personnel call this #, they will give them, the doctor's name and phone # along with personal contact information. It just gives EMT's and emergency room staff a head's up and allows them to be as prepared as possible to treat my daughter if that ever becomes necessary.
