I had the same experience myself. I stopped the meds that made me gain 12 pounds in two weeks and the weight came off immediatly. I am looking into something more natural. My 4 year old son also experienced a weight increase when the endo began overdosing him on Cortef. He developed Cushinoid Syndrome as well. His appetite literally doubled!! He developed an uncontrolable craving for sweets and we worked hard at trying to find healthier substitutes for him. I began to notice these changes within the first week of his med increase. Luckily we have regained control of his OHP levels and were able to lower him to a more tolerable dose and LOW AND BEHOLD - the symptoms are slowly disappearing. It is clear to me that these kids need a better method of treatment but what are their options? Is anybody out there being treated successfully with anything other than steroids for CAH? LKT
