hi there, well i am a 19 year old female whom has struggled with weight gain all my life. When i was 13 and had booked for my surgery I worked my butt off to get fit and healthy so that i could recover quickly.... I had no junk food or anything fatty for 7 months...i swam everyday for competivitve reasons...did a gym tape everynight for the 7 months...my meals were smaller..etc etc...and you know what...sure i lost some weight...but it was a reall heart ache to see how hard i worked, and scafificed all the nice things in life to try and lose the weight. I was only approximately 15 Kg over weight, and i should of lost all of that during that time...but it didn't....i have no idea why....but even now i look back and think there has to be something with the cortisone meds, or something....i worked too hard not to of lost the weight. I am not concerned these days about my weight.....i am trying to be carefull but....chocholate looks and tastes soo good..hahaha anyway good luck to you all, and your children in this horrible battle...i really don't know whether it was worth it in the end...but it was a great learning experience for me and my parents into this condition and its mysteries..
