The proper name is either Cushings Syndrome or Cushings Disease. It if a disorder where the adrenal glands produce way too much cortisol. Often times they perform an adrenalectomy on these patients. What happens sometimes when people are given a high dose of cortisol replacement is that they can develop "moon face", plumping us of the body (I have noticed it alot in the trunk of his body) and a highly increased appetite. These symptoms are referred to as "Cushinoid" symptoms. For my son, once put on a "normal" amount of Cortef, the symptoms began to decrease although he remains a bit stocky. I hope this helps to clarify things. LKTLKT
