My son does crave salt. But we started giving him pretzel sticks for snacks since he was a little guy. I have noticed that when he has had too much he drinks a lot more. Just like anyone else would. I used to really worry about the salt levels because when he was a baby the doctor gave us a specific amount to put in his bottles. After they took him off the sodium chloride (I think that was what it was called) I made the endo calculate how much table salt he needed per day and I would measure it out for the day. Until last month we have never had a doctor that would check his salt levels. It was all based on blood pressure. His last labs showed that he is receiving adaquate salt. I don't salt his lunch except for his carrot sticks. He normally has a pretzel or some type of chip. He gets most of his salt in the evening.Cheryl
