Karen! I read your story in the CAHOOT! Thomas was diagnosed in Texas, and we met with Carolyn Scruggs, R.N. at the Dept. of Health, Newborn Screening. She was so helpful, and I submitted two articles to her for the third issue of the CAHOOT, which hasn't been published yet. One was on our experience with diagnosis and the other was on the MAGIC Foundation's 1999 Convention. I hope it comes out soon. I need to send her a more current picture of Thomas, as the one she has is when he was two months old. I remember reading in the second CAHOOT (that we got from TCH), that your daughter's story was the most popular piece from the first CAHOOT. Thank you so much for sharing. We also met another CAH family, whose son was 10 years old, so it was a great visit to the capital. I plan to write books on this (and now I can add ACC to his list of diagnoses)when the kids enter school, so I may be in touch with you. It is wonderful of you to spread the good news.
