I hear the word 'Barbie doll', and I immediately tense up. I may be worrying for nothing, but I am so scared here! My son is also hyperactive (ADHD), has a low attention span, but give him a barbie and he can play with her for hours...... Ughhhhhh. He goes to extremes to get to his sisters dolls - climbs on top of furniture to get them down from a very high shelf. He wears my husbands large tshirts and pretends its a dress; He wraps a baby blanket on his head and pretends its long hair. He's even referred to himself as a girl several times in the last few months. He is currently taking 10mg of Cortef, 1mg of florinef, and 1/2 cc of Sodium Daily. Im happy to say he is doing very well on these low doses (used to be much higher at first). His endocrine specialist is very good. But unfortunately the gender issue is something that only time will tell. He had a pshycological evaluation done which confirmed I have reason to be concerned, but the only thing I can do is arrange 'play dates' for him with other boys so he can hopefully gain more 'male-oriented' interests. All this has accomplished is to add more stress to an already stressful life. Im so scared it may backfire. What if being around boys makes him actually 'like' them, rather than just be like them. What do you think??Lucy
