A first time for everything - my son has his first ear infection (no fever). He is on antibiotics and dimetapp. Interestingly, when I asked the Pediatrician if he should be stressed dosed, she said no. After further discussion I had her call my son's endo who said to DOUBLE his cortef for two days. Reason being that the adrenal glands have a short reserve and even when a child is sick with an infection you don't want to use up the reserve - it's precautionary treatment. What do you all think???
