I saw my mom practice on an orange once....and saw all the juice squirt from it. I vowed that she would never get near me with a needle. Luckily, our next door neighbor is a nurse who didn't mind coming over once in a while when I needed an injection. One of these days I really should figure out how to do it for myself....
