My 5yr old son was diagnosed at birth and has never taken the liquid. From all I have heard on this board I'm very glad. I don't understand why the woman you refer to crushes the pill. Other than when my son was first on it did I crush it. I had my pharmacist get me the small vials that I had access to in the hospital that I could put a niple on. They held only about 1oz. I used to crush his pill and put it in that. It made knowing he got it all so much easier. Once he was about 6 mo. old I used to lay him on his back and drop the pill in the back of this throat and close his mouth. I know it sounds like giving a pill to a dog but it worked. He began swallowing them by 1yr old all by himself with something to drink. You may want to suggest this to her. My son has been very well controlled so far.Judy
